Introduction to the Inca Trail (2D/1N)

Our short version of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu begins at your hotel, where you will be picked up around 5:00am. From your hotel, you will travel 1 to 1.5 hours with your guide to Ollantaytambo, where we will take the Expedition Train to our starting point called KM 104 "Chachabamba". A good 2-day introduction to the trail if you don’t have the time for a full trekking experience.

  • Our short version of the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu begins at your hotel, where you will be picked up around 5:00am. From your hotel, you will travel 1 to 1.5 hours with your guide to Ollantaytambo, where we will take the Expedition Train to our starting point called KM 104 "Chachabamba".

    At the starting point, you must show your Ticket for the Inca Route, your original passport. Here the Inca Trail begins and we will begin the 3.5 to 4 hour walk to Wiñayhuayna, where we will enjoy a pleasant lunch. The walk to Wiñayhuayna is a beautiful walk, where we can enjoy the incredible flora and landscape that surrounds us.

    After lunch, we will walk another two hours to Intipunku "the Gate of the Sun", from where we will have excellent views of Machu Picchu and all the surrounding mountains. Here we will have about 20 min. to rest. Then we will travel to the "Lost City of the Incas", Machu Picchu. Here the Inca trail ends and we will enter the wonder of Machu Picchu.

    Finally we take a bus to Aguas Calientes and transfer you to your hotel.

    We will arrive at 5 pm approximate in the afternoon and enjoy a good dinner. After dinner, we will settle in for the night.

  • On this last day we will have breakfast at 6:00 and go to our bus at the Aguas Calientes station. We will take a bus to the city of Machu Picchu Inca. To enter you will also need to show your passport, entry ticket. Then your guide will show you around Machu Picchu and the different important sites, ruins and temples of the site between 8:00 and 10:00. After the tour you will have some free time to explore the city, its many different roads and beautiful surroundings.

    After you have enjoyed the magnificent city of the Incas, you will use your bus ticket to go down to Aguas Calientes and then take the train back to Cusco via Ollantaytambo. The "Vistadome" leaves in the afternoon and arrives in Ollantaytambo after 2 hours. In Ollantaytambo there will be a bus waiting for you to take you to Cusco.

  • $2450 per person: 1-4 guests.

    $2150 per person: 4-8 guests.

    $1750 for 8-12 guests. The 12th person is included at no charge.

    Private guide and hiking staff: $2950 per person. 2 person min.

    A nonrefundable deposit of $500 per person is required to reserve a trek. This will be used to purchase Machu Picchu entrance tickets which are nonrefundable, non transferrable and non changeable.

  • The night before your trek begins, there is a mandatory oriental and document verification at our office in Cusco at 5:00pm.

    You’ll receive your duffle bag with a list and weight specifications.

    You’ll have a chance to purchase any supplies that you might not have brought with you and complete a full gear inspection.
